About the Event
Trip Leader: Peter Vahry
Annual trip to Maratoto track to help with cutback and track maintenance.
Dept Of Conservation (DOC) says we need to stay safe, so please dont bring chainsaws or saws on poles.
Scrub cutters and hand tools such as loppers and hedge clippers are welcomed.
Machetes and slashers are also discouraged as they create sharp points on branches and deep flesh wounds :(
Not everyone needs to have cutting tools, as shifting cut material off the track is very important too :)
