DoC Cabins and Campsites located in 4WD areas

Pureora Forest Park

Cabins, 54 km from Te Kuiti. Off SH 30 on Village Rd, 120 metres from Pureora Field Centre.

Kakaho Camping area, Link Rd from Pureora Field Centre or Kakaho Road from SH 32.

Ngaherenga camping area, Off SH 30, adjacent to Pureroa Forest Park site centre.

Piripiro Flats campsite, Piropiro Rd, off SH 4 or 30

Whirinaki Recreation Area

Whirinaki Recreation Camp
Drive from Murupara to Minginui Village. The cabins are 5 km from Minginui Village on Old Te Whaiti Road.

Mangamate camping area, 90 km south east of Rotorua. Minginui Rd, off SH 38.

Biosecurity New Zealand

Biosecurity New Zealand is a division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF). It has the lead role in preventing unwanted pests and diseases from reaching New Zealand, and for controlling, managing or eradicating them should they arrive.
