Woodhill Jeep 4x4 Park Safety Patrol Roster 2010
A calendar showing the dates that the Auckland 4WD Club are helping with the park patrol

Woodhill Safety Patrols

We have now the updated roster for the patrols for the Auckland Club.
We need people to fill these spots and if you're available for any of our rostered dates please contact Steve Reed
Steve 02102703322 or (09) 8367244 evenings

Patrol Make-up:

  • A patrol will consist of two trucks
  • A maximum of two patrols (4 trucks) will be allowed per day
  • Each patrol will have at least one ‘Experienced’ driver and at least one winch between the two Trucks, preferably two winches
  • Each vehicle must have passed the Scrutineering requirements of their host Club and carry the required recovery and safety equipment
  • It may be of benefit to carry a turning block and winch blocks to aid recovery
  1. Each Patrol will be under the direction of  the Park Management and the Patrol Coordinator.
  2. The Patrols will move around the Park in groups of two Trucks and educate members of the Public on how to extract themselves from problems they have got themselves into.
  3. If the efforts of the Patrol to help members of the public to extract themselves fails then the Patrol is to safely recover them.
  4. Before recovery commences the Patrol should ask the member of the public to fill out the approved Woodhill Jeep 4x4 Safety Patrol Indemnity Form absolving the Patrol, Club and Park Management of responsibility if damage occurs during the recovery. If the member of the public does not wish to fill out the indemnity form then the Patrol can elect to not recover them and report this occurrence to the Park Management, noting the location and vehicle particulars.
  5. Each Truck shall utilize their own/clubs recovery equipment. Any equipment broken during reasonable attempts at recovery will be replaced by Park Management.
  6. The preference for recovery techniques will be by winch in a slow and controlled manner so as to minimize the possibility of damage.
